Grade 3 & 4 Visit Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

On Friday, December 6th, Grades 3 and 4 visited the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, one of Japan’s most popular aquariums. The aquarium is known for its large exhibits focused on marine life from around the Pacific Rim.

Students began their visit at the Aqua Gate, a tunnel tank that made them feel like they were underwater. They explored zones such as the Japan Forest, Antarctica with its penguins, and the Pacific Ocean tank, home to the whale shark, the largest fish in the world. Other highlights included interactive areas where students observed animals like stingrays and sharks up close.

With over 30,000 animals from 620 species, the aquarium provided students with a chance to connect classroom learning about ecosystems and biodiversity to real-life experiences. The exhibits also emphasized the importance of conservation and the interconnectedness of natural habitats.

It was a fun and educational day, and we thank everyone who helped make the trip a success.

Ms. Robyn
