Grade 5 and 6 Field Trip to Nagoya

Embarking on an annual tradition, the graduating class of our Primary school eagerly anticipates the exhilarating overnight field trip that marks the culmination of their primary education journey. For years, it has been a rite of passage exclusively for the grade 6 class, serving as a symbolic celebration of their achievements and shared experiences. However, this year brings a unique twist to the tradition, as our school undergoes a significant transition from a 4-year to a 5-year middle school program. Consequently, not just one, but two grades will be bidding farewell to their primary school days. The expanded scope of the field trip adds an extra layer of excitement and camaraderie, forging lasting memories for both the departing classes as they collectively embark on this final adventure together.

As the school embraces the shift towards a more comprehensive middle school program, the field trip gains newfound significance. It becomes a bridge between the familiar terrain of primary education and the uncharted territory of middle school life. The two graduating classes, united in their journey, embark on this overnight excursion as a shared celebration of their achievements, friendships, and the bonds forged during their formative years. The extended program not only reflects the evolving educational landscape but also offers a unique opportunity for students to strengthen their connections before venturing into the next phase of their academic endeavors. This expanded field trip tradition encapsulates the spirit of transition, fostering a sense of unity among the departing classes and setting the stage for the exciting challenges and experiences awaiting them in the upcoming middle school years.

Embarking on their journey to Nagoya, the graduating classes took a detour to explore the historically rich city of Hikone. Renowned for its cultural significance, the city offered a dual treat to the eager students. The iconic Hikone Castle, a symbol of Japan’s feudal past, stood majestically as a testament to the city’s historical legacy. However, the adventure didn’t stop there, as the main attraction for this trip included an exhilarating cave exploration in “Kawachi No Kazaana.” Amidst the intricate tunnels and concealed chambers, the students immersed themselves in the subterranean wonders, unraveling the mysteries beneath the surface. The juxtaposition of Hikone’s tangible history and the hidden allure of cave exploration made this stop an unforgettable and enriching chapter in the graduating classes’ celebratory journey.

Following their enriching exploration of Hikone, the graduating classes continued their journey to Nagoya, eagerly anticipating a well-deserved respite at their hotel. The evening unfolded into a harmonious blend of cultural indulgence and camaraderie, as the students immersed themselves in the heartwarming ambiance of traditional Japanese Washoku cuisine. Subsequently, they embraced the therapeutic tranquility of an onsen, rejuvenating their spirits amidst the soothing waters that is a staple in Japanese society. As night fell, the graduating classes fostered a sense of togetherness by engaging in spirited board games, creating laughter-filled memories that would linger long after the evening concluded. This harmonious blend of cultural immersion, relaxation, and camaraderie set the stage for the next day’s adventures in Nagoya.

The following day unfolded with boundless fun and excitement as the graduating class embarked on a thrilling adventure at Nagashima Spaland, a renowned amusement park in the region. From exhilarating roller coasters to whimsical attractions, the students immersed themselves in the joyous atmosphere, creating even more lasting memories amidst the adrenaline-fueled rides and vibrant entertainment. The entire day was a kaleidoscope of laughter, camaraderie, and shared exhilaration as the graduating class reveled in the amusement park’s myriad attractions. As the day drew to a close, the students, brimming with the day’s excitement, made their way back to Osaka, cherishing the echoes of laughter and the shared thrills that marked this memorable trip.

And with that, congratulations to the Graduating 5th and 6th classes of 2023 – 2024! Good luck on your next stage in your lifelong journey of education.
