The boards were set and the tension was palpable! Yesterday, our campus proudly hosted the inaugural 1st Kansai Scholastic Chess Championship. A massive field of 44 brilliant young minds from ten public and international schools across Kansai gathered to battle it out. The competition even drew competitors from afar, including a welcome contingent from our sister school, Enishi, in Nagoya!
Our own AIS Dragons were well-represented, with seven students participating across all seven rounds of the tournament, covering a wide range of grade levels: Grade 1 (1 student), Grade 2 (1 student), Grade 3 (2 students), Grade 4 (1 student), Grade 6 (1 student), and Grade 8 (1 student). Some of our very own students took home the prize!
